Profile

Jing Yao holds a master’s degree in civil and commercial law and a securities qualification. She has practised in China for 16 years and has handled more than 500 civil and commercial matters.

Areas of Practice

Civil and commercial disputes, matrimonial and inheritance matters, contracts, shareholder disputes, intellectual property, corporate governance, data protection and cross-border regulatory matters.

Experience

Ms Yao advises Chinese and international clients on dispute strategy, equity structures, intellectual property portfolios and compliance under the Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law. Her work also covers foreign-investment regulation, Shanghai Free Trade Zone policies and cross-border data transfers.

She assists with cross-border evidence collection, administrative procedures and urgent applications, and helps clients integrate dispute prevention and compliance measures into day-to-day operations.
